TEOMCROTE = TEOTWAWKI on steroids! The End Of Mankind's Current Reign Over The Earth takes into account that our ancestors were neither suicidal, stupid, nor our genetic inferiors but still wound up getting wiped off the Earth. Whereas CSER [cser.org: Centre for Study of Existential Risk] tries to PREVENT this dispensation from coming to an end, TEOMCROTE works from the eventuality/possibility/probability that the end our age takes place and what to do then

priorities

If you don't have a good grip on
health
history
humanity
politics
science
economics, and
occult
matters, you're not capable of setting priorities. Priorities are set by specialists. First you consider, THEN you set priorities. It's not about experience, feelings, preference, or any other random aspects of your life.

How can you store food without having first considered what foods are appropriate? You can store foods that are expensive, unhealthy, inefficient, etc. It's similar to politics; the political way of things is to just throw loads of money at a problem and hope to god that a solution comes out somehow. Well, we all know how politics works out... When loads of energy, work, or money are thrown at a problem without considering what's actually intelligent, whatever results comes out as answer are generally 10 to 20 times more expensive than necessary.
Quantity is no alternative to quality.
You don't just go read 1000 books and expect to get as informed as by reading 1 well-chosen book. First you consider WHAT to read, THEN you do your reading.

The National Geographic Channel's Doomsday Preppers is full of people who throw a lot of energy, enthousiasm and resources at a perceived threat but all of that BEFORE considering carefully WHAT the threat even is. It's like studying for a test before you find out what the test is going to be about...

People have diets that keep them weak and hungry [undernourished]. Like most people do today, they just eat and eat and eat all day, never actually becoming energetic and full. Stock up on, literally, tons of such food and you're preparing for a continuation of the situation that's gotten the world nowhere. Then consider the Tarahumara indians who are able to run a marathon daily on one cup of nixtamal and tesguino. A Tarahumara indian could buy enough corn to last a lifetime on what the Doomsday Preppers probably spend on one week's worth of rations.

There are many such considerations. Just 'going with the flow' ain't gonna cut it. Careful and complete research on your options isn't a luxury; it's basic.
The story of Prometheus and Epimetheus in Greek mythology covers this idea; Prometheus [literally "fore-thinker] was the one who would consider matters carefully BEFORE they occured; %28mythology%29]EPImetheus would consider matters AFTER the fact.
We live in a epimethean culture. People don't like to consider all sides to a matter. They like to fit in with mainstream thinking somehow, even if it leaves gaping holes in knowledge and understanding.

Think before you act. It's wisdom for anybody and any time. It applies to TEOTWAWKI even more since after TSHTF there will be no do-overs. The time to consider what you'll spend your time and money on is NOT after they're gone. This board was set up to offer you shortcuts on TEOTWAWKI-related topics (which are generally all topics we're faced with today already anyway).

The research is out there on the matter of things like sun spots, magnetic pole reversals, ice ages, and various ancient historical accounts that tell that the Sun came up in the West and the Earth stopped spinning for days.
The logic is also there.
Most of all, though, the common sense is there: our species SHOULD go back MILLIONS of years yet our culture [almost literally] popped up out of nowhere a few THOUSAND years ago. That tells your common sense that you have no reason to feel secure about mankind's fate.

The big question is: why isn't anyone ACTING on this?
That's not a rhetorical question. It is a question that can be answered. The answer makes clear that your attitude can (and should!) change.

I've gone into the aspects of answering this question in various posts, like ]the scientific explanation of mainstream. These are important references to actual scientific research that explain about humanity; that explain about YOU.

YOU will die. How can i put this...?
YOU RISK DEATH FOR YOURSELF AND FOR GENERATIONS OF MANKIND!!!

That is, IF you don't get yer ass in gear. This is why i bother covering the matter WHY people don't.

It's not necessary that people REMAIN crippled by their ignorance and doubts. Knowledge can be accessed and doubts can be assuaged. They NEED to be.
Suicidal behavior isn't necessary. It isn't noble, it isn't good for the species, it isn't spiritual; it's just plain stupid behavior, stupid choices.

Many of the aspects of BEING A HUMAN BEING have long been answered by research in our age and in the recent ages before us. Your ignorance is unnecessary. Your death is unnecessary. Your INACTION is unnecessary. You have the tools to overcome your own reticence. Right here. I've spent decades answering such questions and it's clear to me that it's clear to science [though not to some 'scientific consensus'!] what our true human nature is.
This is not quaint knowledge. They don't say "Know thyself" for nothing. It is ESSENTIAL knowledge and if you find yourself crippled by the lack of that knowledge, even to the point that you're just going to sit back and die while some astronomical cycle occurs, it's all the more essential TO YOU.

Read it.
Consider it.
Deal with it.
Live

You will also have my continued support. That's just a matter of self-preservation, as well as a very natural and healthy human empathy towards others. The species is in danger but billions of future people might otherwise suffer the same barbaric past that we did, ignorant of what you're likely ignorant of at this very moment.

The most important aspect of 'survival' is in your mind. When that's settled [informed, centered, focused] the rest will fall into place. If your mind is lost in doubt, conjecture, and depression,, you're dead before you even die: dead man walking.
Are YOU stupid? Is it an acceptable notion to you that YOU're a dead man walking?
If not, i offer you the means to transcend your immobility NOW.

It should be noted that all of what i'm talking about here can be achieved 'on a budget'. You need neither heaps of cash, time, nor 'talent' to prepare for whatever might come about. Let alone do you need luck or some kind of 'divine intervention'. You need to act, but act from the acceptance that it's feasible, because it is.
There is knowledge and understanding, however, unheard of in the mainstream. For instance, accomplishments by people applying permaculture are deemed fantastic or just plain impossible in the mainstream. And yet very ordinary people are building oases in deserts all over the world right now through basic permaculture techniques [techniques that don't serve the petrochemical/pharmaceutical/power-hungry professionals].
Take the time to reeducate yourself and today's TRUE information age [which is far more than chatting, shopping and sexing online] will save your life. Bits of such information and many links to it, you will find on this board.

Enjoy the ride and survive. That is the empathic choice.

how hard is it to create a community?

For me the above is a rhetorical question because it has turned out to be impossible.
Yeah, yeah, i'm socially ineffective but YOU're good with people and will succeed where i failed... [sarcasm]
There are good reasons why people don't ALREADY live in community and WTSHTF those reasons will become MORE pressing, not less so. It's all about wishful thinking and romantasizing about TEOTWAWKI. Perhaps movies with people coming together in times of crisis make people believe they can fall back on that.

The truth? Uncommonly acknowledged or known things like adrenal fatigue and the authoritarian trauma [as explained by Alice Miller] bring out the WORST in many people, making them impossible to deal with, ESPECIALLY in stressful situations. And then we come to the main reason why people aren't already living in community [i.e. in times of peace!]: people who CAN deal with stress, don't know how to cope with people who can't and they allow the latter to manipulate situations and relationships to the point where it seems community with others is impossible.

Having knowledge and understanding of these things, i see them all around me happening all the time. Having understood them for years, i've been able to experience them in times of crisis, as well. (Since theory is nice but only first-hand experience really brings the message home.)
If mankind is such a social animal [which he is according to research like that of Piotr Kropotkin, politically incorrect as it is], why are Westerners and many other peoples so antisocial as to live in tiny family units? People like Alice Miller and Peter Kropotkin have supplied these answers. One ignores their research at one's own peril, remaining ignorant of the basic driving forces behind modern society and personal relationships.

Therefore,, frustrating, undesirable, and depressing as it may be,, the best and most likely only way to survive TEOTWAWKI will be on your own. The ONLY people capable and willing to prepare in community will be people who know about and understand the forces underlying society and psychology, and such people are nearly non-existent. After years of looking for them, i have found none (anywhere), nor have i found people able or willing to accept and deal with such truths [research/data].

How hard is it to create a community? It is impossible, apparently,, and wishful thinking, so-called positive thinking, or pseudo-spirituality will NOT get the job done. The simple results of people's lives TODAY prove that the above is true, as stated above: if you were ready, able, and willing to live in community, YOU'D BE DOING SO ALREADY! Successfully, btw, for if you can't handle community in peacetime, how the hell could you manage in times of crisis?

In fact, mankind's only hope for ANY human civilization, EOTWAWKI or no, has to do with accepting and dealing with the kind of research i'm talking about, the kind that politicians and society as a whole has been consistently culling from it's awareness. Without such understanding, neither civilization nor survival are within your grasp.

Research into successful existing communities teaches that the only way that they do succeed is by falling back on authoritative hierarchal organisation. The destructive potential that can pop up from individuals can be (more or less) dealt with through an hierarchal system but, unfortunately, such authoritarian structures end up calling forth quite inhuman and undesirable conditions. Such conditions appeal mainly to people who already feel comfortable with authoritarian relationships and generally mainstream life. The 'spirit' (if you will) of such systems is inherently inhuman, though 'successful' in the sense that they don't selfdestruct (as quickly as anarchal 'systems' do). Historically, any commune that hasn't relied on some religious [i.e. spiritually authoritarian] basis self-destructed and couldn't survive longer than a few decades at best.

The above might lead one to suspect that mankind is inherently authoritarian but research refutes this. The thing is that only authoritarian structures are able to deal with people suffering from the authoritarian trauma AT ALL, though such seemingly successful structures do create all kinds of inhuman drama that undermines the very humanity of the community or society involved.
Only knowledge and understanding of what makes people and societies human offers the answers to how to establish a successful longterm human community or society. It's quite simple: know thyself. Modern culture, however, is inherently incapable of accepting such research and insight as it undermines the very core of modern society and relationships.

playing Renaissance Man anno 2012

There's a nice Chinese saying i learned 20 years ago and never forgot that goes (in Pinyin):
Hue dao lao, xue dao lao
Hai you san fen, xue bu liao
,
which translates, literally, to:
Live to old age, learn to old age,
there'll still be 3/10 you can't learn
.

This saying dates back to times when there were so few books in the world at all that it was ALMOST conceivable to have read them all. But as the saying warns: "Don't get c0cky; there's still bound to be enough you've missed even if you study every day of a long life".

Nowadays there are even so many books published EACH YEAR that it would take a lifetime to read them all. This gives THE IMPRESSION that learning enough to 'know about everything' is just plain impossible.
However, the more i surf the net [which makes things quite different from struggling to collect knowledge 20 years ago], the more i get the impression that the pillars of civilization CAN be accessed and collected.

Yes, there's a lot to consider but every journey starts with a single step. Professionals and so-called authorities would LOVE to have you BELIEVE that you can never even hope to understand what they make their living doing... As i said, though, such notions have really become quite obsolete in this internet age. It's true that it used to be extremely difficult to access and acquire the necessary sources and knowledge to master a discipline. It's quite a different story today. Though a professional may still offer worthwhile experience and expertise, the basics to just about any craft or discipline can be accessed through sources online or through books that can be either downloaded, ordered (online), or understood from online publications.

Having said all that, i believe the following disciplines are important to have accessed in order to consider oneself ready for a collapse of society/'civilization':

- humanity [psychology, politics, history, threats, needs] [know thyself]
- NWO [Reptilians, aliens, vaccinations, FEMA, etc. etc.] [know thine enemy]
- geology [rock, geological resources, etc.]
- metallurgy [finding, getting, refining, and making metals and alloys]
- agriculture [soil, permaculture, animal husbandry, seeds, trees, sourcing water etc.]
- nutrition [foods, principles, GI tract, microbial life and cultures]
- health [detox, healing, principles, threats, first aid, sex]
- crafts [glass, ceramics, fabrics, making paper, etc. etc.]
- electricity [radio, magnets, principles, etc.]
- technology [hydraulics, tools, materials, glue, glass, etc.]
- chemistry [plastics, sourcing elements, acquiring compounds, etc.]
- spirituality [teachings, principles, non-human intelligence, Christianity, LoA, etc.]

It looks like a lot... and it is. On the other hand, i have researched all of these things [apparently... just see the board] and feel i have a good grip on a lot of them and a good idea about a lot of others.
Nowadays, it's almost possible to learn the basics of glass blowing in a single day. Just ]take a look at the posts under CRAFTS. It may take years to MASTER glass blowing but WTSHTF the important thing is to have the basic knowledge and understanding accessed. The details will work themselves out in time. The basics, on the other hand, often took millennia to work out! []See the vids on What The Ancients Did For Us.]

Jesus in the Bible mentions that one should first look to spiritual matters and then the rest of life will fall into place and that kinda applies to preparing for independent living, as well: once you understand, for instance, that civilization is the sum of all KNOWLEDGE, COMMUNICATION, and ORGANISATION, you also understand how important it would be for any future civilization to acquire means of communication. It's just an example to show how one's understanding can guide one's choice of what technology to offer priority.
The same goes for understanding of humanity. Mainstream ideas of what is necessary are a large part of what's wrong with society today. If you don't get what's causing today's problems, you won't be able to set up a civilization in any future.
If you let me offer an example, it's more important to have people communicate than for them to be able to make bombs, since COMMUNICATION is one of the pillars of civilization and being able to kill each other is not. On the other hand, to be able to have explosives that make roads possible (to connect countries and regions with one another), can also be very important. Such might suggest certain organisations to provide protection and guidance. "Impossible!", you might say, but i've given it a lot of thought and i believe it's entirely possible if understanding of what causes the psychological authoritarian trauma is applied.
To be clear: no such organisations exist today.

As one of Alice Miller's books is titled, Roots of Violence are NOT unknown. They are unknown to the mainstream, i.e. to mainstream psychologists, politicians, and common people.
If you fear society today, you will likely fear what mankind can produce in any future. If you master today, you need not fear the future.
The sources on this board not only offer the technological sources necessary for establishing civilization, but also sources that make it possible to establish what might rightly be called "civilization" at all (as opposed to what might be called sophisticated barbarism, which is basically what we're faced with today).

also see posts under ]TECHNOLOGY, list of utter essentials

understanding life on this planet in this day and age

People commonly refuse to deal with certain aspects of life. They focus on some area of personal expertise and basically leave other areas of attention to mainstream authorities. For instance, someone knows a lot about health and doesn't believe a word of what 'medical authorities' say, but when it comes to politics they just stick to mainstream ideas.
The problem with that approach is that the mainstream offers opinions and 'authorities' about EVERYTHING. Everything that you haven't checked yourself, you're inherently forced to the default mainstream take on things.

A saying comes to mind: Failing to plan is planning to fail
George Orwell said: Within any important issue, there are always aspects no one wishes to discuss.

If you leave ANYTHING to mainstream authorities, you are in essence adjusting your views to the mainstream and reaching a compromised conclusion.
Why do i say that?

As i illustrate in my 7-pointed star:
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--
all things are connected. Politics touches everything. Science touches every aspect of life. Our nature [humanity] effects all other matters. Etc. etc. etc. Hell, even sex is connected to everything [it's not one of the 7 because sexual aspects can generally be left out of considerations about other things and they'll still make sense].
To consider the example of politics more deeply, you cannot understand how it relates to all other things without understanding about all other 6 major aspects of life. You can't understand politics if you don't understand about the history of politics (and of mankind, for that matter); you can't understand about politics if you don't understand the basics of science, psychology, humanity, and all other points on the 7-pointed star.

When i'm talking to people about ANYTHING, i always run into this problem: because they don't understand the basics about EVERYTHING, they can't deal with the conclusions i've reached about anything.

So-called mainstream authorities have opinions about everything and they force these opinions on the masses.
ALL of these opinions are BULLSH!T
People find that scary to admit. Though people who have discovered that the topics they've looked into are BULLSH!T, they still cling to the hope that not EVERYTHING is similarly tainted.
However, if you KEEP looking, you'll find that TPTB have left no stone unturned. (It's just an extension of their nature and their nature is inhuman and insane.) As Jesus said, the Truth will set you free, so THEY don't allow Truth roaming free out there in the wild. This is also the case because Truth connects to all OTHER truths and one single Truth points the way to other truths. Which is what people would discover if they KEPT digging.

I once briefly exchanged quibs with YouTuber [url=[sign in to see URL] and at some point she replied something that said a lot about herself; she said that as she's been researching things for 11 years, she obviously must know what she's talking about... [!]
This set me thinking since i wondered how someone could ever say something so stupid. Factoids and data obviously don't mean you actually UNDERSTAND anything. Now mainstream authorities don't even have their data straight [!], but even if you do, that obviously doesn't mean you GET what the data might add up to. You'd first need the ]IQ, EQ, and AQ to get to understanding, let alone to get to actual wisdom.

There are great obstacles in the way of being able to not only get the big picture but to actually be able to make sense of ANYTHING. You need the raw data, you need the intellectual pegs to be able to assimilate it by placing things where they make sense to your own mind, and you need the psychological health to ACCEPT what you encounter.
A lot of people have looked into a lot of things but unless and until you've looked into EVERYTHING, the sense you make out of ANYTHING is going to be limited by how everything is interlinked with everything else. And when you link to a mainstream bullsh!t notion, this taints the integrity and strength of whatever you THOUGHT you understood.
You will never understand anything to any worthwhile degree without being able to deal with every other aspect of life it is inherently linked to.

For instance, a man that i recently spoke to who knew A WHOLE LOT about physics, chemistry, and devious military applications based thereon,, ASSUMED that these covert military applications were the greatest threat to mankind. BY DEFAULT [i.e. through his ignorance about other matters] he ASSUMED that what was needed was 'to spread the word' about these horrific truths.
His ignorance about psychology, history, mankind, and spirituality [to name a few] left him clutching at straws and making childish conclusions even though he was thoroughly informed about certain other matters.

Why do people avoid looking into certain topics while accepting opinions and data outside the mainstream on other matters?
Time? Discomfort? As i explain in the above link on AQ, it's about ego ,offset=0#post1706][see non-mainstream definition]. Can you accept the harsh truth that EVERYTHING is tainted? I've heard of people crying for days after being presented the whole picture at once, their entire worldview shattered by reality.
Because people don't REALLY know about or understand anything,
- they never really succeed and make significant changes in life
- the victim attitude stemming from conviction that nothing can be done is only supported
- life is about SURVIVING rather than thriving.
This is not about supernatural strength or ability; it's about setting the bar just high enough so you're not caught up in self-destructive choices and the mainstream suicidal lifestyle. I.E. this is not for a 'blessed few'; this is for anyone who simply can't understand why they should follow the crowd, especially if the crowd's acting like a group of lemmings.

TEOTWAWKI is inherently connected to everything.
Dealing with it maturely is mainly about AQ, i.e. about psychological health. It's not about access to raw data and it's not even about understanding what you access; it's about the need to (become able to) assimilate it into your own psyche and then into your life, not just about assimilating it into your brain.
Wisdom is knowledge and understanding APPLIED and it'll take more than knowledge and insight to deal with TEOTWAWKI. That's just infotainment level of prepping. Wisdom is actually applying what you know and understand.

social triage

I ate as a vegetarian for 15 years; 2 of those years i ate vegan. I gave up eating vegan because it was social hell. Mind you, this was back when rawfood or superfoods were unheard of. There was no internet, let alone internet health gurus. I was making it up as i went along, basing my choices on gut and a few health sources. I backed down from veganism because i lacked the resources to keep it up. The pressures were too great.
Where am i going with this?
We are human beings and we are inherently social beings. WHATEVER we choose to do has social consequences that are relevant to us as human beings.
I made a conscious good choice for eating vegan [actually, it was a BETTER choice; see my post on ]veganism] but i watered it down because of it's social implications. If i had been actually supported by society and/or the people in my life, i would have stuck with it. But i'm not talking about dietary choices here; i'm talking about how social forces influence important choices.

As i've pointed out in the sector ]PSYCHOLOGY, there are people who are stuck in their self-destructive conditioning and there are people who aren't. The research shows that the people who can't and won't choose to live in hard times cannot be helped. And as i just argued under ]PSYCHOLOGY, intelligence, delayed gratification, there's nothing that could OR SHOULD have been done [or TRIED to do] for the 6,000,000 Jews who stayed in Nazi Germany; the signs were there for every Jew to see. They LIVED among the Nazis, for Christ's sake! They were forced to walk around with badges of their heritage and to live inside barricaded compounds.
Anyone who stayed did so because they actually had no choice or simply because their brains weren't functioning properly (and i mean that quite literally, considering common psychological traumas that are well-known by researchers).

If you allow 'suicidal' non-prepping types to slow you down, you are YOURSELF succumbing to (self-)destructive psychological forces.
I've explained the trauma to people and they argue as if they have some kind of obligation to not only go down with their ship but to waste their time and energy on people who couldn't care less.
If there's one thing that brings about the collapse of global civilization, it is THIS attitude. Yes, the psychologically healthy people are a minority, but a minority of billions is still a lot! However, if that minority is surrounded by people that disable, distract, discourage, and disempower them in a myriad of ways,, mankind doesn't stand a chance.
You COULD be aligning yourself with people who are worth the trouble. It would serve mankind and the future generations of BILLIONS. Yes, it's true, you can't save the billions today; on the other hand, you can mean a hell of a lot to the billions that will inevitably follow! (And by surviving, a large portion of these might actually be your very own descendents!)

If you don't accept or understand this, you NEED to read the research (especially Alice Miller's books). If you don't apply social triage today, you are putting all of your eggs in the basket that other people are NOT that great a threat, neither today nor in any future. That also means that you are putting all of your eggs in the basket of a possible TEOTWAWKI event being about an event that does NOT require your total focus today. Your social choices are limiting your ability to perform today. It's indirect but it's real: social pressures are pushing you towards suicide by watering down your TEOTWAWKI preparation efforts, for if you end up only having prepared for a limited cataclysm and a true EOTWAWKI event occurs, you're too late. Suicidal social forces HATE for ANYONE to be preparing for an event that the suicidal masses have no hope of surviving.
You must shrug off their effects AND their presence in your life! If not, you will die the same death that all half-assed preppers of a limited TEOTWAWKI event are in for.

Their negativity isn't personal; they will kill themselves and you along with them because of their traumas and conditioning. It's not because they hate you or because they're evil people. It just happens.
Medical triage is when you focus on those you CAN save; not because you've started to hate those who will die anyway, but because if you DON'T make the hard choices, those who CAN survive will die AS WELL.
In the case of a possible TEOTWAWKI event it is you yourself who will die as well if you don't make the choices that support preparing for a true EOTWAWKI event (and a subsequent need for rebuilding civilization from scratch).

No compromises give a hoot to them; their negativity towards true survival is instinctive. It has no rhyme or reason. Compromises only FEED their will to oppose your efforts. You can't win. The only way to succeed is to cut their efforts out of the equation.
Understanding of the psychological trauma i'm referring to makes that clear. They will push and push and push and actually self-destruct in their effort to oppose anyone who threatens their tentative peace of mind. That's because of the primal nature of the conditioning i'm talking about. There's no intelligence at work here! You are faced with a diseased state of mind. There's no reasoning with it, no bargaining. No amount of give-n-take or reasoning will ever satisfy the subconscious self-destructive attitude that the masses have towards life. Your life is no exception.
It's a hard reality to accept: the masses are basically clinically insane. Literally. That's what the research points to.
Allowing insane people to influence important choices is itself insane...

You choose TODAY:
A. "The 'suicidals' can PISS OFF and i'm preparing for TEOTWAWKI properly!" or
B. "I'm digging myself a nice hole for a comfortable death so i can die with the rest."

I am as yet alone in my preparations, knowledge, and considerations. It's not that i 'could use some help', it's that there will likely only be a handful on the planet preparing for any EOTWAWKI event. That is, IF it's that many and i'm really not alone WTSHTF (and the only one in the world that's been preparing for civilization reboot...)

There are preparations that can be shared. Most of the preparations are about acquiring and saving information, anyway. This work can be shared if nothing else.

I have what i think is a good location in Morocco. A second option is the island of La Gomera.

In the end, living lives that are egocentric and solidary [i.e. the common 'family unit' lifestyle] is literally inhuman.

From a Sarajevo War Survivor:

Experiencing horrible things that can happen in a war – death of parents and friends, hunger and malnutrition, endless freezing cold, fear, sniper attacks…

Stockpiling helps, but you never no how long trouble will last, so locate near renewable food sources.
Living near a well with a manual pump is like being in Eden.
After awhile, even gold can lose its luster. But there is no luxury in war quite like toilet paper. Its surplus value is greater than gold’s.
If you had to go without one utility, lose electricity – it’s the easiest to do without (most when you’re in a very nice climate with no need for heat.)
Canned foods are awesome, especially if their contents are tasty without heating.
Bring some books – escapist ones like romance or mysteries become more valuable as the war continues. Sure, it’s great to have a lot of survival guides, but you’ll figure most of that out on your own anyway –trust me, you will have a lot of time on your hands.
The feeling that you’re human can fade pretty fast. I can’t tell you how many people I knew who would have traded a much needed meal for just a little bit of toothpaste, rouge, soap or cologne. Not much point in fighting if you have to lose your humanity. These things are morale –builders like nothing else.
Slow burning candles and matches, matches, matches.

ya gotta have faith.... yeah, right

people underestimate how much of their culture is rooted in opinions, conditioning, and traditions that go back hundreds of years. Of course that means forgetting what culture was rooted in hundreds of years ago... i.e. religious fanatacism and ignorance!

"Have faith" actually sounds normal, even to a modern person's ears. Have faith? Are you crazy? In WHOM? In WHAT?
The newage popular culture suggests positive thinking is the way out of everything, including thinking. It is escapist. It is desperate, not hopeful.

Let's look to the definition of hope to give some clarity:
Hope is what you do when there's nothing you CAN do. Despair is what you do because there's nothing you WILL do.

Another expression will shed extra light on the matter:
"Fate is what befalls those who won't accept that they must act, destiny is what befalls those who won't accept their fates."

Faith, hope, trust,, these are for victims, children, and slaves.

Faith in the future? Well, not if you actually won't DO anything to make that future bright FOR YOU!

Faith in 'God'? You mean the 'god' who has allowed countless suffering, genocide, and torture in the past...?!

Faith in your secretive incompetent lawmakers who rule by force and steal [taxes] to keep their high incomes secure?

The future can go any place but if you just lie down like a dog and wait to see what a continuance of the present will bring you, you deserve all you receive.
When you REFUSE to accept that which is inhuman(e), there is no lying down.

I saw a nice saying this year on 'civilization':
"Civilization isn't just about what we're able to create, but it's also about what we're unwilling to destroy."
When you let others destroy the humanity in your own life, let alone in the lives of others, you have made an important choice. When you choose to respect what humanity demands, you make another choice.

Jesus said: "The truth will set you free"; the Catholic Church [under PAUL!] spoke of faith as the route to salvation. I guess, again, some people will have to choose: follow Christ or the antichrist...

The victim/slave/child trusts. It doesn't have a choice. Whenever there is a choice to trust INSTEAD OF to think, it is the victim/slave/child speaking, whether that's in society, culture, or your own head. You may not be able to help your own mind's conditioning (yet), but you are the master of your own choices. Only the victim attitude suggests otherwise. The victim attitude suggests you are a slave to your mind, not mature enough to reassess whatever thoughts, opinions, or ideas pop up there.

Faith that the world will be fine isn't positive or mature. It is the exact opposite. If you HOPE for the best AFTER YOU'VE DONE ALL YOU CAN, that's a different story. When people say "Have faith!", however, they're implying you do nothing. They say "Have faith", but they mean: "Be obedienct and docile"...

agriculture

Water, heat, access, soil,, creating YOUR OWN is where freedom lies.
Ultimately, all economics is based on agriculture. After all, everyone's gotta eat. In extension, all freedom is ultimately based on agriculture; if you can grow your own, you're not forced to work or sell in order to buy from others, and that goes for food as well as any other commodity.
HEALTH, as well, has an agricultural foundation.

Modern (slave) economics notwithstanding, it does not take the ownership of land to farm. In fact, in order to realize TRUE freedom, one should focus on UNDESIRABLE land, not on land that both government [taxation] and competitors have their sights set on.
In order to attain both freedom and independence, one should (and can!) strive to farm that which others consider barren.

The year is 2014 but both 99% of farmers and civil servants act as if the information age never happened. The new frontier, for freedom as well as agriculture, lies in the very lands that so-called modern agricultural techniques have desertified and written off. Agro-business promotes water-wasteful, gas-guzzling, fertilizer-addicted, and to Big Pharma-kowtowing techniques. Turning away from all that makes the life of a farmer EASY, not hard. It also allows for LIVING and THRIVING, rather than just surviving (which is the case for farmers who embrace the 'modern' approach). It is Yin & Yang: the evil of utter control brought about the internet and it in turn offers freedom from the evil from which it sprung.

These are among the many techniques and tactics that i'll be using to farm lands that other 'farmers' have abandoned. It takes knowledge, not money; it takes intelligence, not hard work. It is labor of love and freedom, not servitude, debt, and working like ]Sisyphus.

sorry, that should be FOGGAGE farming (but i can't edit a jpg
Farmers are no different from other folk in that they wallow in ignorance, their lives full of stupid, ineffective, and self-destructive practices.
City folk might think the logical thing to do is look to what a farmer does, if one is considering farming. Well, look at it like this: do you suggest a farmer look at what city folk are doing if he's interested in coming to the city...?

Modern and much traditional agriculture is rooted in ignorance. 25% of agricultural land is now practically desert and lost to all (for now). Farmers in the past destroyed these regions. These are not the people to be looking towards for advice.
Agricultural experts, gurus, and researchers are few and far between. You are not served by seeing what people do in general; you are served by seeing what the aforementioned have to say. They are few but they are the ones to consult.

Permaculture has proven and explained that even in the regions with the least amount of annual rainfall it's possible to set up fruit-bearing forrests that are self-sustaining. You need to know what it takes for soil to be able to absorb what rain falls; you don't need to construct all kinds of structures to substitute for rain. What you need is to understand that common ASSUMPTIONS about agriculture are rooted in ignorance.

Farming is NOT hard work. Neither is it rocket science. Desertification is not the result of harsh climate, it's the result of ideas rooted in ignorance and stupidity. Like with any other matter, they are common and widespread. In fact, if you actually do something that works, you'll face ridicule and attack. Such things should be your concern, not farming itself. Farming itself is easy. STUPID farmers, 99,99% of what's out there, give the impression that farming is a chore. It keeps people in the polluted cities unnecessarily.
