TEOMCROTE = TEOTWAWKI on steroids! The End Of Mankind's Current Reign Over The Earth takes into account that our ancestors were neither suicidal, stupid, nor our genetic inferiors but still wound up getting wiped off the Earth. Whereas CSER [cser.org: Centre for Study of Existential Risk] tries to PREVENT this dispensation from coming to an end, TEOMCROTE works from the eventuality/possibility/probability that the end our age takes place and what to do then

agricultural tools

2 great and affordable tools for creating good soil are:
- ppm/TDS meter
- pH meter

Minerals can be added to compost or soil simply by adding a solution of seawater. This is better and cheaper than any fertilizer one can buy. It only has one drawback and one reason for the pH meter: seawater minerals make the soil more alkaline. That means that an acidifying agent, like manure, possibly needs to be added to adjust the pH value of soil or compost.

pH values can be essential for the health of plants/trees or for allowing seeds to sprout.
Farmers who through lime or some other calcium source are passing up the opportunity to add seaminerals by using seawater.

Life is extremely pH sensitive, though it therefore also usually has all kinds of means of balancing pH values. Seedlings and seeds, however, especially have a limited ability to do so and the proper values for each species should be either known or learned. The pH meter, then, can either help determine the necessary pH value or values can be checked and noted for future reference, i.e. as a valuable research tool.

THIS IS IMPORTANT!

I was thinking about seedlings... pH is EVERYTHING! And if you don't have knowledge about what kind of soil your seeds or seedlings require, you can easily lose them.
Just to illustrate, realize this:
When you drown, you DON'T die for lack of oxygen...
You die because of CO2 poisoning!
You die because your body expells CO2 constantly AS A pH BALANCING TACTIC.
CO2 is acidic and your body is CONSTANTLY balancing acid/alkaline levels and your lungs play a big part in this.
Just the buildup of CO2 if you're body isn't able to expell it will kill you within minutes (if not sooner).
This is how people can sleep without fresh air (though it's really pretty stupid); all peole need is the ability to breath CO2 OUT, not so much to breathe O2 in.
I knew this guy they called "Moll", short for mollman, as it were; he would sleep with the sheets pulled up over his head so his friends thought he was like a moll, surviving underground.
His O2, of course, would've been at dangerous levels but he could sleep this way because IT'S NOT ABOUT 02 primarily; it's about pH!
So if you have a few bucks, get yourself a pH meter!
It could save your life (since soil is so important).

shredders and choppers

It may not be the first thing one might think is important but according to people who know about composting, something to chop up branches can really make a big difference.
Yes, if you leave a branch in a compost heap long enough, EVENTUALLY it will break down, but...
- chopped wood offers mulch (for protecting crops, etc.)
- you'll save time and gain efficiency by shredding
- having a homogenous compost heap is much easier
- you can grow on heaps of tree mulch [works very well]
All in all having a shredder can REALLY make a big difference.

Labor Saving Devices to Save Your Sanity

]Off-Grid Machines: Labor Saving Devices to Save Your Sanity
Nice article on things like a wine press:
Treadle Sewing Machine
Hand-Crank Grain Mill
Solar Oven
Tool Set
Hand-wringer washer
Wine press

I´m thinking something with which to melt iron would be good, too, as a basic.
