Garden Lime - the Vital Fertiliser!
Different soil types will behave differently so one vital tool for the serious gardener is a tester for acidity levels. You can also judge the acidity of the soil by the types of weeds that grow and their behaviour.
To raise the pH and lower acidity or sweeten the soil, we add lime. To lower pH and increase acidity you can add sulphate of ammonia or urea which are high nitrogen fertilizers. [/url]
Anyone have either a tester or knowledge how to read weeds for acidity?

YouTube tutorials on how to make a pH indicator with red cabbage
Paul LaViolette suggests that massive acidity from cosmic dust may occur with the coming of the galactic superwave; it would then be good to be able to determine the pH of your soil and how much it needs to be adjusted, for instance with seawater (which would lower the acidity/increase the pH).
