There now exists in the world a stash of books, seeds, etc. for survivors or later generations after TEOMCROTE. I have buried a supply of the following books and other items, covered in concrete, and protected by a pile of rocks: - Periodic Tales by Hugh Aldersey-Williams - Caveman Chemistry by Kevin Dunn - The Biillings Method by Evelyn Billings - Thou Shalt Not Be Aware by Alice Miller - The 12th Planet by Zecharia Sitchin - The Land of no Horizon by Kevin & Matthew Taylor - The Secret of the Dark Stars by Anton Parks - Primitive Technology I & II from The Society of Primitive Technology - Born to Run by Christopher McDougall - Reed's Sextant Simplified by Dag Pike - a tiny atlas - sextant - poster of the Peters Projection map of the world - poster of the table of periodic elements - seeds - prints of my TEOMCROTE books so far They were all in hard plastic containers to keep them waterproof. I went up to about 1750 meters on a mountain in Morocco and found a good spot where people nearly never come. Even if someone does, though, they won't be able to spot the stash. Hopefully if the shit hits the fan i'll be able to retrieve the lot then. If i manage to set up a better option, i can retrieve them and add them to the better location. Worst case-best case scenario: someone in later times finds the seeds and books and can (learn to) understand the English and appreciate what they have to offer. For those who've looked into my writings at teomcrote.co.nf, i.e. into my book TEOMCROTE and others [see banner of this blog right at the top of your screen], it should be clear that the above collection of books is probably like none other in the world. It's not just about technology, it's about what our age has uncovered about being human. But not in the politically correct sense, rather in the scholarly sense. Where did we come from? What is the source of strife? What is good and what is bad? The above books explain these things without having to refer to some axiom or assumption. Would even some literate person have the pegs to compute what they hold? Unlikely. But just like people nowadays do not have the pegs to digest such literature, still they exist and are out there for the few who might [like myself] understand their content in spite of mainstream culture. And if i had had centuries to use this kind of information, i might have been able to do great things, is what i believe and hope. So perhaps there will come a day when mankind will be able to apply this knowledge and transcend (what i prefer to call) sophisticated barbarism [i.e mainstream authoritarian culture].nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Mon, 27 Jul 2015 03:29:07 +0000 orderhttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p3586,from=rss#post3586https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p3586,from=rss#post3586nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Tue, 07 Jul 2015 07:50:41 +0000 waterproof paperhttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p3533,from=rss#post3533https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p3533,from=rss#post3533A3 € 30 NLnondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Tue, 18 Nov 2014 09:05:51 +0000 basics of civilization on a piece of paperhttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p2409,from=rss#post2409https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p2409,from=rss#post2409nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Wed, 27 Jun 2012 10:37:41 +0000 civilization starter kithttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p2056,from=rss#post2056https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p2056,from=rss#post2056Marcin Jakubowski is working on 50 open source hardware models that will allow anyone with moderate income and understanding to build and maintainence their own farming tools. introductory vid He's talking about a dvd which would contain all one needs for rebooting civilization.nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Thu, 26 Apr 2012 13:19:39 +0000 Re: "Survival Handbook" Ideahttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p468,from=rss#post468https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p468,from=rss#post468dropbox.com My son told me about this as he uses it for his uni files so trying an experiment with this atm. Have been looking into the possibility of leasing bandwidth space that could be used as both storage and communication. I like the Wiki type concept for alternative technology and survival information. As mentioned, its also good to have hard copy of information in case of digital failure. Our local 'Office Works' here in West Australia prints out pdf files and binds them for a reasonable rate. So commercial options elsewhere would exist. Duplication: Currently researching 'backyard foundry' technology and part way through building my own furnace. Have been collecting relevant foundry books, youtube files etc. A mate just gave me 70 gig of his library, pdf, avi and mp3 files, more on self development, metaphysics, conspiracy, esoteric etc which complements my own similar collection. I can look into the cost of 500 gig of resellable BW if interested. A mate has been using joomla programs to create www sites for his clients. It would be possible to create a survival site and forum etc with the programs. We could store relevant files in a library there that we can all add to and dl from. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Donneperth)Mon, 16 May 2011 06:01:04 +0000 Re: "Survival Handbook" Ideahttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p464,from=rss#post464https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p464,from=rss#post464i'll ask Donne...nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Sun, 15 May 2011 20:38:16 +0000 Re: "Survival Handbook" Ideahttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p463,from=rss#post463https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p463,from=rss#post463Yeah, well as was stated in the initial thread where this thread started from, we all (well at least you and me) are collecting information and saving it ourselves. But obviously, a coordinated effort on a website would greatly improve the efficiency of the concept. We're all probably overlapping the same efforts of each other, where if it was coordinated online we wouldn't all be collecting the same information, we could be collecting only information that was missing and not already covered by someone else. And redundancy of everyone still having their copy of everything is as simple as just updating your personal archive with the latest updated version of the online Handbook. Obviously, efficiency is the key concept here for as you say, time is running short. The less time we spend on duplicating each others efforts the more time we have for all the other things that need to done for preparedness. Such as possibly taking workshop classes as you say (if those could be organized; that is another challenge in itself). That is why I made this thread, to see if we could find someone that knows how to start up a Wiki-type website; then we could get it started and spread the word of it, and hopefully more and more people would get involved after it got it's initial "spark." Actually, realistically speaking, this forum doesn't have a very big viewing, and this idea should be posted elsewhere on the Internet as well. (And honestly, this isn't such a grand "eureka" concept; as you said you been trying to do it for years, and I'm sure there has to be others around the world that may have already gotten this kind of thing going on somewhere already; maybe we just need to search harder for an already existing one (possibly in a foreign language).nondisclosed_email@example.com (chillin2012)Sun, 15 May 2011 18:42:28 +0000 Re: "Survival Handbook" Ideahttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p459,from=rss#post459https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p459,from=rss#post459as an after thought... If one were to invest a single day for some basic technology or craft, this would be more or less enough to pass on the basics. With internet what it is today, including YouTube vids, downloadable ebooks, etc.,, say you were interested in collecting knowledge about how to blow glass, one of the true basic technologies (imagine life without windows! People used to take their windows with them when they moved and build their new house around them...). Boil it down to a page or less, maybe with some pics, and the next day it could be about how to make a furnace get really hot, well, you get the idea. Is it too much work? It's more about time, i think. Internet makes us all potential experts and maybe we've been offered it's utility in the final days for a reason? Just a thought. I'm not saying it's true, but either way it would be a shame to lose internet and think back on all of the knowledge that MIGHT have been acquired through it. By the way, i think working that way would solve the next problem: what to look into. It's like i mention, if you look into glass, you're also going to have to look into how to make a furnace, then it's about how to make the gas to heat the furnace with, then it's about compressor technology with which one can collect the gas, then it's about making the metal parts, etc. etc. etc. One leads to another quite naturally, i think.nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Sun, 15 May 2011 16:22:33 +0000 Re: "Survival Handbook" Ideahttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p458,from=rss#post458https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p458,from=rss#post458I've been looking for people to join or get together for this for year since it so obviously DOES appear too much for one or a few people. The impression i'm getting, however, is that it might in the end be more important what we ourselves are able to put together [though we can of course share it online with the world] and i think it's because, in the end, there won't be many who will wish to see TEOTWAWKI through and opt to join the billions in death. Perhaps when people REALLY start WORKING ON things that'll be necessary when TEOTWAWKI happens, it dawns on them that it's far beyond the comfort zone and then they quit. I am a person, and i hope i'm not alone but there apparently aren't many, who doesn't care too much about my own comfort zone. I'm happy if i'm happy and i can enjoy it, but i don't count myself blessed or right or 'doing well' for feeling happy. Sometimes happy just comes later and maybe should come later. For most people, however, it appears that when they truly START with the big changes and see how the unhappiness sets in, they STOP whatever they're doing and set a limit on how far they're willing to think and feel and go. I imagine this is why there are so little 2012 online intiatives of merrit. Hell, i can name 3 or 4 that are by the same person. And he's an idiot... [i.e. suicidal type that won't allow his mind/heart to accept a possible serious outcome of 2012]. Oh, he can also be a jerk, which is how i came by "idiot". He banished me from 2012forum.com, for one. IF i would have been working on such a survival handbook myself, i might actually almost be finished with it by now, but i made a great mistake: thinking "Hey, this is just too much for little ol' me; we (the people) should be doing this together". Hey, i still love the sentiment. In the end there are some real basics and one or a few people SHOULD be able to put that together: - woodgas stove comes to mind, for the gas we'd need to heat furnaces with, - aspects of metal working - basic chemistry - basic electronics - basic battery technology - the hydraulic rampump [especially on Gomera] It may then appear "etc. etc. etc.", but actually, after 20 to 30 basics, things might start looking less gloomy. Another thought: maybe if we start putting something together, start building, and then putting it out already, we might attract other builders or feedback to help with it. Putting stuff together, though, is tough, too. That's why i'm saving youtube vids on people SHOWING how to do stuff. A picture says a thousand words, a vid says tens of thousands! For this reason, as well, i'm thinking workshops in Morocco. And, frankly, i'd think it'd be a good idea for EVERYONE to attend EVERY workshop possible. Hogging information is one of the main pillars of the sick society we enjoy today and specialization will likely start off the community on a dangerous foot. It would also draw powermongers, which is another reason why i believe everyone should at least have his or her own copy of everything everyone should know.nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Sun, 15 May 2011 16:17:14 +0000 "Survival Handbook" Ideahttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p456,from=rss#post456https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p456,from=rss#post456This is an idea that I had after reading this fllowing from the thread MOVIES/BOOKS, documentaries, saving information. I'm just going to copy and paste what I replied to the following quote in that thread: quote:Bronvanzin wrote: .............. All in all, hardcopy information is also desirable. Actually, i've been thinking of compiling a book of essential data that would consist of laminated pages. That would then be about the bare necessities, thinking of things like: - how to make iron - how to make paper - how to make sodium chlorite and MMS etc. etc. etc. etc. On the one hand that may seem redundant, on the other hand we should be prepared for the worst case scenario in which we either lose all of our digital equipment or maybe aren't able to access them for a while. In that case we'll need to be able to access the bare necessities somehow. Many good books can be boiled down to a page or less and just getting all of the good stuff together, maybe enough for everyone to carry their own copy, would be prudent and would also give everyone with their copy a feeling of safety and independence. You know this is a really good idea, but seems like a lot of work for just one person. This could be termed something like a "Survival Handbook." I'm surprised that something like this doesn't already exist somewhere on the Internet. And if not, this gave me the idea that what if we, or whoever has the technical know-how, created a website, possibly open-source such as a Wiki, or maybe a membership based website (so evil-doers don't corrupt the it with bogus data) where many people could contribute and the "Survival Handbook" could evolve more quickly and be free to download as a PDF file by anybody. So I'm just posting this here in this thread to see if we can get any interest in this idea, and maybe find somebody that knows how to start it up by creating a website (I'm not tech savvy in that area myself). Or maybe something like this already exists? But I haven't located it yet if it does. And Survival Handbook might not be the best thing to call it, but that is just what popped in my head at the time. I'm sure we can collectively come up with a better name for it perhaps. nondisclosed_email@example.com (chillin2012)Sun, 15 May 2011 06:47:50 +0000
