TEOMCROTE = TEOTWAWKI on steroids! The End Of Mankind's Current Reign Over The Earth takes into account that our ancestors were neither suicidal, stupid, nor our genetic inferiors but still wound up getting wiped off the Earth. Whereas CSER [cser.org: Centre for Study of Existential Risk] tries to PREVENT this dispensation from coming to an end, TEOMCROTE works from the eventuality/possibility/probability that the end our age takes place and what to do then

meditation

meditation that's easy, comfortable, and feasible for anyone

'Meditation' has never been my cup of tea, talking about the sitting on your butt and thinking nothing "meditation". Is there other meditation?
You bet your ass! emoticon

Regular sitting-and-thinking-nothing meditation is perhaps more something for people with blood type A or AB. Me, i'm blood type B and i'm a doer, though the creative type. What relaxes me is writing. Supposedly, creative activities relax B's, also Tai Chi type of exercise. For someone with blood type 0, as well, sitting-and-thinking-nothing actually creates frustration, not relaxation or peace of mind. The following techniques might also work well for them, though the running-like-an-idiot is typically what relaxes a 0 emoticon

I've had my clearest and deepest thoughts in two situations, mostly:
- standing in the shower
- lying in bed after waking up in the morning.

Actually, much of what i've considered in the past that led to a lot of what i understand about society, relationships, and politics [since that's what i was stuck on at that time] today,, i came up with in this period when i would lie in bed till noon. There was this period in which i did so practically every day for about 6 months. After this 6 month period i was done with this kind of meditation daily for the simple reason that i felt that i'd figured out most of the mysteries i had to deal with then. It freed my mind and time for other things and i've used the concepts that came to me ever since. I still do it when i have things to figure out, opportunity allowing.

Showering is supposed to rinse the aura of negative energies. It grounds you. When i'm annoyed, taking a shower can really be a relief. It can be a 'waste' of water, as far as economics go, but the benefit of showering can go far beyond washing.
I often have clear thoughts while showering and it often leads to new action and incentive.

These are my meditation techniques. I've tried the sitting-down-on-your-ass kind, for hours on end even, and it's just not my thing. Especially since it's painful and requires discipline. Taking a shower or lying in bed is great! There's no comparison in my book.
The thing is that it DOESN'T take effort. Actually, you have to NOT make an effort, that's how it works for you. Your mind makes leaps and goes places and all you have to do is watch and review. "Did that make sense?" "Can i get where THAT came from?" Then rethink something, perhaps, and MAKE sense where first there was none. It sounds like a little thing, something that'll offer little profit, but the madness society and culture are full of are part of your own mad thoughts and opinions and they are offering you mad choices that don't make sense and offer no success. Making sense of the thoughts in your mind is the root of all success and progress!

Lying in bed for hours gives your mind the opportunity to let all of the crazy input rolling around in there to be dealt with one by one. It took me 6 months. I doubt there are shortcuts. The more unfounded data, opinions, and associations you have, the longer it'll take, i guess.
Thoughts come, thoughts go. Actually, if you get hung up on thoughts, the process probably would become UNcomfortable and you'd get sick of it. Allowing the mind to go where it wants to, gets you where you need to be and easily. The more you are honest to yourself and the more you let it flow, the quicker and further you'll get in your 'meditation'.

The great thoughts come when things get cleared up. Thoughts pop up in your head that just don't make sense or just don't add up. Having the time and peace to just (enjoy) inspecting your own thoughts offers you the opportunity to become conscious about whatever's undealt-with and UNconscious in your mind. It is liberating. You finally get to own your own conditioning and thinking. You replace mad thoughts that stemmed from culture with sane thoughts that passed the inspection of your own conscious thinking.

Of course you have to be honest with yourself. Much of mainstream culture/society is actually quite mad. The insanity only really becomes clear/obvious/unmistakable after such serious inspection. Before the inspection, people assume it won't be TOO bad, and that's what makes it hard to talk to people about how bad things REALLY are: until you've really inspected reality, you assume things will make SOME kind of sense; then you get to know better...
You have to be willing to accept that your opinions, thoughts, and conclusions might well (all) be unfounded, if not quite mad. If you connect ego to opinion, however, how would you ever get new opinions? Having stupid thoughts doesn't mean YOU're stupid, it's that simple. I was never stupid but, man, did i used to have a head filled with insane thoughts and assumptions! Just like everyone obviously [to me it's obvious now...] has all kinds of unsubstantiated and self-destructive opinions, i once had them too. Wisening up didn't take a guru or some mysterious 'eastern' meditation, it just took taking the time to really let my mind figure itself out.

I don't claim any divine inspiration, no "period of 10 hour-a-day meditation" (like Ivan Stein does), no special talents or intelligence,, i attribute my understanding to just taking the time to actually use my brain.
I would advise ANYONE to just MAKE the time to let your thoughts flow and get a grip on them. Anyway, if you would incorporate any truly helpful and truthful information and insights into your own heart, mind, and life,, some introspection will be required. I'm giving you a headsup on what it took me to get started. I suggest you allot some time to this, especially if you find yourself stuck and not able to act. Usually it's not your situation but rather the connections/conditionings within your own mind which are holding you back, also stopping you from even acquiring/accepting the knowledge that can help you move on.

meditation & tapping: what’s missing in most meditation

From The Tapping Solution:
I’m often asked, besides tapping, what tools do you recommend for a prosperous, happy, fulfilling life?
Because, like exercise, tools for clearing the past and attracting what you want come in different forms, and the right ones exercise different “muscles” So just like one might run, lift weights, do yoga, play sports, walk and so forth for a healthy physical body, a healthy mental body can include tapping, journaling,
proper nutrition and meditation. And it’s the latter I want to talk to you about today: Meditation.

Most people freak out when they think about meditation.
I don’t have the time! I can’t focus!
I’m not good at it!
Well, those are certainly issues that you can tap on!

But putting that aside learning how to meditate, in whatever form that takes can make a profound, lasting impact in all aspects of your life. It can bring more peace, more energy, more clarity, and a deeper experience of life. And you don’t have to spend hours every day- just 20 minutes can make a PROFOUND difference.

You can meditate by yourself, without any guidance, but I’ve personally found that if I have guided audio help, it makes all the difference in the results.
There’s one program to facilitate that that I recommend HIGHLY. It addresses something that is MISSING in most forms of meditation...
And it’s a fantastic compliment to your tapping journey.
Learn about what’s missing in most forms of meditation.

the Delta state

Atom Bergstrom has a lot to say about the Delta state of mind.

A few things that i've run into:
- Bach music at 1/4 speed calls forth a Delta mind state
- Bee Gees music at certain speeds can cause the heart to stop
- Beatles music is the opposite: it's good for you

dream state

According to Atom Bergstrom when you are dreaming, you can end the unconscious dream state by one of 2 ways:
- focus on any object
- focus on your hands

This will either wake you up or propell you into a conscious dream state/lucid dreaming, depending on how you do it.

He also says that if you'd like fly in your dream, focus on birds and planes all day.

the illusion of meditation techniques

Meditation obviously has to do with the mind: quieting the mind, focusing the mind, allowing the mind to access deeper and purer levels of being. But is meditation to mind like supplements or drugs are to health?
People are extremely undisciplined when it comes to thinking. The newage obsessive approach to feelings actually commonly suggests that the mind and thought are irrelevant, that it's only about what you INTEND. But how do you voice what you intend, or even KNOW what you yourself are intending (on deeper levels) if you are casual with words?

The mind works with words and accessing deeper levels of the mind works easily and constantly by being aware of, by simply accepting, the words that the subconscious mind is putting out.
The newage meditation idea, however, is to bypass all of that, someone accessing [uploading and downloading] the essence of the mind without going through [supposedly inherently limiting] words. Pure intention. Pure being. But how ARE you without words?

Words are not just a constant part of conscious existence, expecially for the undisciplined mind words can be a cacophonious presence people seek to master. The mastery of the mind and words, however, isn't accomplished by some of kind of ascedic negation of their existence and influence. Words and the mind are mastered by taking them seriously.

I imagine that most people view their problem of undiscipline minds not by doing the work of (finally) disciplining it but by trying to get around it. I think this is what most people consider 'meditation' and meditation techniques.
I've written in detail about the power of words (in relation to mind and conscious living) in other posts and articles.

caveats

'Sitting on your ass' for hours on end can have benefits but if you're about attaining superior levels of balance and/or awareness, there's common sense that applies here. The people who successfully apply such techniques ALSO follow strict diets and such. Applying 'high tech' methodologies while restricting yourself to inferior groundwork has as much chance of succeeding as does an illiterate farmer in rural Rwanda have a chance of using a million-dollar tractor to his advantage...
First things first and being obsessed with the tools, symbols, and outer signs of people who've been successful is a typical trap of someone without substance. One collects substance by focusing on substance; by focusing on signs, one's life is about cosmetics.
This is the difference between 'humans' and 'Reptilians', those stuck with obsession with fear and the reptilian brain vs those who can let those go.
