The top 5 foods to avoid if you have gluten intolerance and wheat allergies - Grains - Condiments and Seasonings - Alcoholic Beverages - Processed Meats - Sweets and Treats follow link to read the rest I will add a caveat to the above. Much has been said about the causes of allergies and it appears clear that there's nothing 'genetic' about it. In one case, a boy that supposedly had a gluten allergy was given bread to eat that had NOT been exposed to mercury, as all grains that go through US silos are [!], and had no adverse reaction. All of the above-mentioned foods, actually, come from mainstream sources, i.e. from contaminated, industrialized, and likely genetically manipulated sources. To blame problems like allergies that arise from such sources on the NATURAL qualities of either the grain or the person suffering from such foods [i.e. on genetics] is unscientific. Food choices today are inherently linked to political, pharmaceutical, and economical processes. The 'allergy', one might say, might be called an allergy to these machinations as well as it is an 'allergy to grains'.nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheDoctorIsInTheHouse)Wed, 17 Oct 2012 17:25:30 +0000 genetically engineeredhttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p2640,from=rss#post2640https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p2640,from=rss#post2640nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheDoctorIsInTheHouse)Thu, 13 Sep 2012 19:21:06 +0000 articleshttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p2624,from=rss#post2624https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p2624,from=rss#post2624Your biological terrain is deranged by grains In my experience as a psychiatrist and holistic physician, I see many people with eating disorders. Many have problems with starches, especially the white flour, white-sugar starches that we call pastries. The eating of these foods seems to be very much connected with blood-sugar imbalances, depression, and short-term highs. It seems that most people do not binge on vegetables, but they do binge on starches. Starchy foods are the number-one choice to "calm and comfort." One name for this addiction is "starchaholic." Additional symptoms of starchaholics include an immediate clarity that they feel when they have their sweet or starch, which moves to confusion; and changes in mental state from well-being to negativity and depression, from peaceful to aggressive, from a sensitive, tuned-in person to one who is numb, from energetic (which may happen initially for a few minutes to one half-hour or an hour) to lethargic. These symptoms are very common. Not only do grains on their own create problems, but many toxic chemicals are used in the processing of grains. These include mercury, cyanide, ammonium, salt, chlorine, fluorine, mineral oil, alum, and aspartame. Grain allergies not only cause the typical mucous membrane irritation, congestion, asthma, and sinusitis, but can have an effect on the mental state as well. Gluten, an ingredient in many grain products, has been associated with several forms of mental and neurological disorders. follow link to read the rest nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheDoctorIsInTheHouse)Sun, 02 Sep 2012 20:35:48 +0000 good grainshttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1982,from=rss#post1982https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1982,from=rss#post1982The Mother of Grains 30 minute podcast with health guru Truth Calkins. Price Chapter Leader and author of the blog The Healthy Home Economist. In a recent video blog, Pope explains the fascinating truth about how soaking grains in an acid-based medium like apple cider vinegar or whey prior to eating them can make all the difference in how the body digests them. "For those with gluten intolerance, soaking or fermenting gluten-based grains breaks down this difficult-to-digest plant protein," adds Pope. "Studies carried out in Italy have found that people with Celiac disease can consume genuine sourdough bread without digestive distress or autoimmune symptoms." follow link to read the restnondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Sun, 01 Apr 2012 11:56:52 +0000 gluten dangershttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1653,from=rss#post1653https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1653,from=rss#post165310 Symptoms of Gluten Intolerance How gluten causes rheumatoid arthritis Eating foods containing gluten could lead to rheumatoid arthritis, a disease characterized by inflammation and pain in the joints. Gluten intolerance leads to damage in the small intestine when gluten is present. Gluten is a protein found in most grains. Bread, pasta and pretzels are just some of the foods that contain gluten. Dietary therapy may reduce rheumatoid arthritis symptoms by eliminating foods that trigger an autoimmune response, according to an article published in the British Journal of Rheumatotology in June 1993. follow link to read the restnondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Tue, 28 Feb 2012 12:59:11 +0000 lectinshttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1585,from=rss#post1585https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1585,from=rss#post1585These Foods Have 'Invisible Thorns' Which Can Rip Apart Your Insides In an article published on GreenMedInfo.com, Sayer Ji describes lectins as "invisible thorns," explaining: "Nature engineers, within all species, a set of defenses against predation, though not all are as obvious as the thorns on a rose or the horns on a rhinoceros. Plants do not have the cell-mediated immunity of higher life forms, like ants, nor do they have the antibody driven, secondary immune systems of vertebrates with jaws. They must rely on a much simpler, innate immunity. It is for this reason that seeds of the grass family, e.g. rice, wheat, spelt, rye, have exceptionally high levels of defensive glycoproteins known as lectins. These 'invisible thorns' are an ingenius means of survival." follow link to read the restnondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Sat, 18 Feb 2012 09:10:00 +0000 white flourhttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p712,from=rss#post712https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p712,from=rss#post712Simple Way to Shed Pounds and Decrease Tiredness - Stop Eating This It's truly astounding—100 years ago, low-quality bread made up about 40 percent of the average Briton's diet (and the situation was likely similar in the US as well), and today, even lower quality bread makes up nearly 50 percent of the average diet! Back in 1911, white bread was identified as a primary culprit for the declining health of the British population, which led to a massive campaign to revert back to more wholesome bread. At the time, wholegrain bread was considered a sign of poverty, so people from all levels of society sought after white, refined flour bread. The campaign spearheaded by The Daily Mail was eventually successful. But it didn't last long... White bread was actually banned during World War II in the UK, and as a result, Britons were said to be in better health by 1947 after subsisting on limited rations of wholegrain breads for eight years. However, at the end of the war, white bread was rendered legal once again, and today, more than 60 years later, our grocery shelves are stocked with breads and grain-products that are of even lower quality than 100 years ago... And, as in 1911, white processed bread is a major contributor to rampant obesity and poor health. follow link to read morenondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Wed, 20 Jul 2011 15:26:17 +0000 wheat / grainshttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p619,from=rss#post619https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p619,from=rss#post619Wheat Germ Agglutinin (WGA) In the USA [outside: unknown] wheat is stored in silos in which it is treated with mercury to keep bugs out. That means that nearly everyone consuming wheat, EVEN WHEAT THAT WAS GROWN WITHOUT PESTICIDES OR ARTIFICIAL FERTILIZERS, is getting poisoned with mercury. Cases are known of people supposedly with a wheat 'allergy', who show no symptoms whatsoever after consuming wheat that was never stored in silos.
