childbirth issues
Before anything is said about cesareans it should be clear that there are midwives out there saying they have something like less than 1 promille mortality rate after decades of midwivery, whereas doctors in hospitals have mortality rates that are hundreds of procentiles higher. Therefore it would be wrong to jump to the conclusion that cesareans are in any way part of a natural, successful or humane paradigm.
Contrary to the opinions of the mainstream (so-called) medical establishment, there are many options that are not only much much better than those offered by credentialed practitioners, but options that are actually good, as opposed to options that (though common) are in fact bad.
Cesarean section may cause epigenetic changes
One big issue with childbirth concerns people [including midwives and doctors] actually pulling at the afterbirth to get it out quickly.
Pulling the afterbirth can lead to bleeding that actually kills many mothers in childbirth. In fact, the so-called dangers of childbirth have more to do with the dangers of people !@#$ up rather than that it's about naturally occurring dangers.
Another extremely common mistake has to do with people [again, also doctors and midwives] cutting the umbilical cord right after birth.
When the umbilical cord is left intact until blood stops flowing to the newborn, this gives the baby an advantage of blood / iron over other babies of 6 months. In other words, babies that have their umbilical cord cut right after birth need 6 months to catch up to the iron levels of babies that were allowed to receive the blood coming from the afterbirth after being born.
Actually, the greatest danger mother and baby face during childbirth has to do with doctors and other professionals pushing their own agendas onto them. Certain procedures and choices are made based on how much time a doctor or midwife has or wishes to invest into the childbirth. Or choices are made that are risky to those involved [i.e mother and child] but diminish risk to the doctor involving liability.
When parents enter into such a relationship with a professional, in their mind they are 'giving nature a hand', but in actuality nature ends up being sacrificed to appease cultural considerations.
The harsh reality is that one usually has signed or entered into implied contracts by seeking the help of professionals. This involves legal ramifications that most people are wholly ignorant of. The professionals in question, though, usually are well aware of how such legalities play out and (ab)use their position to support their own agenda.
To make matters worse, the parents busy having a baby are unprepared to confront such (ab)use of power and end up 'going with the flow' in the heat of the moment to either not irritate the people they count on to help them, not to get into legal problems they may be threatened with or not to create a stressful childbirth situation that may negatively effect both mother and child.
The truth of the matter is that one's best bet is to altogether avoid the complications and danger of complications by getting into bed with professionals (when it comes to childbirth). Even checkups lead to legal precedent that give professionals power over future choices.
In the words of a legal teacher in the book The Firm: "Deny, deny, deny" is the best legal course, i.e. do not enter into legal liabilities by entering into legal relationships to begin with. The more you approach and confer with people with legal authority, the more power over you that you have given them. So it is best not to make use of the services of professionals, with the exception of midwives and doulas whose help doesn't give them power over you and the choices you make.
People have been successfully having babies for millennia. Most professionals would have us all believe that mortality rates during childbirth used to be terrible but ask such a professional for raw data to back up such a claim and they will prove unable to supply it.
3% of people used to get either cancer or heart disease but professionals today will tell you things have improved immensely. It's just marketing; most people selling a product or service will of course claim theirs is beneficial and even that you can't do without it. Such tactics being commonly/culturally accepted and believed doesn't make them any more accurate, wise or safe.
