cold porcelain
Not sure where to place this one...
Starch, glue, mineral oil [baby oil], and vinegar/lemon juice; they make a kind of air-drying clay that becomes very hard.
See 14 minute tutorial:
1 cup glue
1 cup cornstarch, stir
2 tablespoons mineral oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice, stir
heat over medium fire
keep stirring
lower heat
finished when soft but not very sticky
kneed

glycerin
WikiHow: How to Make Glycerin
- Any animal fat can be used, commonly referred to as tallow
- melt the tallow over a low flame
- when the tallow has been rendered, remove the tallow from heat and stir
- lye solution and tallow should both be about 35 degrees C for proper mixing; pour the lye solution slowly into the tallow and stir vigorously
- pour salt into the completed mixture and continue stirring. Add salt until the thick syrup formed floats to the surface with a pool of fluid formed beneath it
- the syrup is actually hard soap; the glycerin must be distilled to remove the diluted salt.
