RMail: RPost Registered Email® Service
RMail: RPost Registered Email® Service
Standard email leaves you exposed to disputes and challenges around “who said what, to whom and when.” It is easily ignored, denied having been received, and can be tampered with at will.
With the RMail service, you receive back a certified email record of delivery which legally proves the email’s receipt, original content and official time. And if you need privacy, RMail messages give you the ability to encrypt your email and ensure no one else can see what you don't want them to see. RMail service runs in your browser, uses your current email address and, neither you nor the email's recipient needs to download any extra software onto any computer.
costs $ 16/month

TED talk on personal agriculture
This TED talk by Britta Riley not only covers the development of the idea of window farms but also focuses on how this development can and should be kept out of the reach of patents and the consumer mentality. This will allow the necessary change of practice and culture to undermine consumerism and corporate power.
Beyond all of this, these are ideas that can be made dead cheap or for free and are necessary, to boot.
I got to this vid through GaiaTechnician's vid on his nano pulser pump idea.

Tor & Cryptocat
Ain't no party like a cryptoparty: privacy goes viral
Across the world, from Boston to Calgary, Oakland to Cairo, people are getting together and learning the basics of digital encryption. During a time when personal privacy is threatened by cybersecurity bills and executives measures all in the name of the war on terror, the government and even private third-parties can easily pry at your online history. At homegrown cryptoparties, though, people can come together and share the tools that are necessary and the know-how that is needed to protect one's own privacy online. RT's Andrew Blake explains.
Five Ways to Have a Chat Behind Big Brother’s Back
Since Edward Snowden blew the whistle on the NSA’s mass surveillance of Americans, interest in cryptography has been piqued. That’s fine if you’re a nerd, but what about Grandma’s privacy? Luckily there are fairly simple ways to communicate privately.
Just be warned, if you use encryption, the NSA has reportedly decided it can hold on to your data indefinitely, whether you’re American or not.
