Lack of iodine may severely affect your child’s brain function and IQ - Iodine deficiency can also cause hypothyroidism, goiter, mental retardation, cretinism, and certain forms of cancer - While US RDA for iodine may be insufficient for optimal health and brain function, recent research also casts doubt on high-dose iodine supplementation, as researchers found a dose-dependent relationship between daily intake of 800 mcg of total iodine and higher, with onset of subclinical hypothyroidism - Three additional factors that play an important role in the development of proper brain function and high IQ in children are: the animal-based omega-3 fat DHA, vitamin D, avoiding fluoride, and optimizing gut flora follow link to read more and view vidnondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Sat, 21 Apr 2012 19:35:09 +0000 delayed gratificationhttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1682,from=rss#post1682https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1682,from=rss#post1682It's a well-known test: they give some young children a choice: eat your candy now or eat it in an hour and get another one; the ones that are able to delay turn out to be successful people later in life. If you can't delay gratification, you can't make it through ANY tough times. The not-so-bright and not-so-tough just find a comfortable place to curl up and die. WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH THE TOUGH GET GOING 6,000,000 Jews were faced with oppression and a handful escaped. Did they ABANDON the others? Did they BETRAY the country and the neighborhood they grew up in? Should they have died? Would that have been more noble? Better? The fact is that the survivors of Nazi Germany [i.e. the ones that fled in time] did what was necessary in the face of extreme threat. They could not save the 6,000,000 others [or 11,000,000 if you count all the other-colored-star people, like gypsies or gays]; they did what they had to do to save themselves and sometimes their family. If you are faced with a 'forced' [i.e. not your first choice] evacuation, you need to be able to push through the hard times that will inevitably come until your life is settled again. Setting up a place to live, gathering the daily comforts of living, acquiring a steady reliable source of food and water,, these things take time and effort. Until they have been arranged, you'll need to up the ante a bit. You will go through UNcomfortable times. You will need to work HARDER even though you're hungry. You'll need to ration food and water, perhaps, even though you're weak. The survival-of-the-fittest race starts NOW; your fitness is determined by your lifestyle and preparations today. How can you survive extreme stress if your body is already taxed today? Adrenal fatigue can set in and no amount of even intelligence can make you think straight. For you to actually APPLY your intelligence, you'll have to be able to think first. People don't commonly understand that there's a hormonal component to all of that (just like people don't understand the other parts of the functioning of the body). Today you can be comfortable. OR you can delay your gratification for today and wait with partying until you've insured your future. It's all about the survival of the fittest, yeah, but that competition ALREADY started. nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Sat, 03 Mar 2012 11:06:53 +0000 development of intelligence and IQ, EQ, and AQhttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1241,from=rss#post1241https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1241,from=rss#post1241IQ is largely determined by the state of the fetus in the womb. If the fetus' mother has a harmonius stressfree life during pregnancy, then the fetus is stimulated to develop it's mammalian brain optimally. If there's regular stress, the reptilian brain is stimulated to develop more. The state of stress of the mother during pregnancy is not only about external conditions. - Is the mother loved? - Does she FEEL loved (whether she is or not)? - Is the mother at peace with herself in general? etc., etc., etc. Further development of IQ after birth is also dependent on EQ and AQ. If the child experiences much trauma and/or stress, the same stimuli evoke the same development as inside the womb, i.e. stress stimulates the reptilian brain to develop. The more peaceful the child's infancy, the more the mammalian brain is stimulated to develop. A child's brain grows more in the first two years of life than in any other period. How the mammalian brain is allowed to develop in this period will determine the child's IQ for the rest of it's life more than anything else. Emotional Quotient or emotional stability might appear similar to Agressive Quotient in many ways. Emotional disturbance, however, need really never result in violence or agression, nor does it necessarily result in fear. These are things that can be purely physical. Emotional stability can be largely determined by one's general health, especially as it relates to the adrenals. Adrenal fatigue is a not often recognized condition (by mainstream doctors) and hard to heal even if it is acknowledged. The strongest, most psychologically healthy person can be emotionally compromised by his or her body's inability to produce the necessary hormones to deal with stress. Emotional health or stability can be about culture and the sense one's able to make out of life. It can therefore be about upbringing, the society one lives in, any number of factors that influence stress. It DOESN'T, however, have to do with how one deals with truths, which is what AQ is about. AQ is largely determined by the first 2 years of life. During this time the infant is defenseless against the psychological conditioning that is Black Pedagogics. In short: IQ relates to physiological attributes EQ relates to abilities to deal with stress AQ relates to (degree of) psychological trauma It should be noted that both EQ and AQ can be strongly influenced by successful treatment or disciplines. This can in itself strongly influence intelligence (as a combination of all 3 factors). These 2 factors also strongly determine HOW and IF IQ is put to work. The degree to which one exibits intelligence, therefore, can be greatly influenced in an adult. All 3, including IQ, are EPIgenetic manifestations, i.e. the intelligence of ANY child is determined by environment and not by the supposed genetic traits of it's parents.nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Sun, 15 Jan 2012 17:06:00 +0000 IQ, EQ, and AQhttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1240,from=rss#post1240https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1240,from=rss#post1240Intelligence Quotient Emotional Quotient Agressive Quotient AQ is an abreviation i've coined myself because it's missing. IQ was initially a model through which was attempted to measure intelligence. It really doesn't work at all. There are too many facets to intelligence to determine it by IQ tests alone. There are whole books written on how and why IQ tests are a complete farce. Basically, it's a money-making scam by people writing books and selling tests based on the IQ test idea. In itself testing IQ might have some value IF TAKEN TOGETHER WITH tests that determine EQ and AQ. Emotional Quotient has become nearly as popular as IQ. When the idea of EQ came out, many people quickly intuited how important this addition to IQ must be. So many people in so many situations obviously allow emotions to impair judgement and normal mental functions so it just makes sense. AQ or the Agressive Quotient only makes sense if you even understand the source of agression. Strangely enough, many psychological professionals do not. I once actually spoke to a psychologist who considered anger and violence basically the same things. This person was CREDENTIALED! If they credential people as psychologists who so obviously don't understand the first thing about what makes people tick, it's no wonder that an "AQ" won't catch on. Alice Miller's research makes it all understandable. Agression has to do with emotional and psychological trauma, i.e. psychological wounds that haven't healed and impair whole psychological functioning. This is the authoritarian or psychological trauma she explains in her books and it's more than common. The level to which people suffer from this debilitating condition is really very telling about how they can ACCEPT certain data, logic, and common sense. As an addition to the emotional and intelligence quotients, it goes beyond what they CAN, to what they are WILLING to fathom, i.e. mentally. Psychologically, they really aren't ABLE to accept certain (trains of) thought (though they could if they were willing to go through the emotional turmoil it would evoke).nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Sun, 15 Jan 2012 16:48:09 +0000 cycleshttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1230,from=rss#post1230https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1230,from=rss#post1230see separate topic on the board on PSYCHOLOGY, cycles According to Atom Bergstrom in this blog post: Genius is a function of timing. The brain needs protein for breakfast. In this podcast he mentions: head in the morning, heart in the middle of the day, and genitals in the evening This translates to mental activities to start from 03:00 to noon. Noon is the most spiritual time. There are 4 mental times: - from 03:00-05:00: Gestalt brain, thinking in general terms - 09:00-11:00: short term memory/recall - from 15:00 to 17:00: long term memory - from 21:00 to 23:00: erase/reprogrammingnondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Fri, 13 Jan 2012 13:00:20 +0000 intelligencehttps://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1224,from=rss#post1224https://b2012overleven.runboard.com/p1224,from=rss#post1224As i already posted in happiness, peace (of mind), and knowledge, intelligence is not so much a special attribute as it is the natural state of a healthy mind. "Healthy" in this sense, must be defined, for mainstream misconceptions about both intelligence and health only serve to confuse the matter. The foundation for IQ [physiological intelligence] is laid in the womb. This already serves to illustrate how EPIgenetic influences are much greater than the genetic. The environment that influences the genetic potential [i.e. the definition of epigenetics] of the embryonic lifeform has a lot to do with how intelligent the baby will be. If the pregnant mother experiences a lot of stress, the fetus will be prepared for a more fight-and-flight life in which greater development of muscles is appropriate. If the pregnancy is harmonious and peaceful, neural and mental capabilities will receive more attention and development. Specifically for the brain this means that the reptilian brain will develop more if a stressful life is prepared for, otherwise the mammalian brain will be allowed to develop fully. The birth trauma is also relevant. The neural pathways are set by this first and greatest experience and all neural pathways in life will be built upon this groundwork. The trauma of birth is natural but a peaceful childbirth by a healthy mother that lasts half an hour [which is common in some cultures] has nothing to do with a child having to endure endless hours of stress as it's fontanels are squished together, suffers lack of oxygen, and uncomprehensively goes through the adrenal rush passed on to it by the mother's blood. There are bruises that pass in a matter of days and there are deep scars that never heal, such is the difference between some childbirths and others. After birth the infant can suffer peace, love, and comfort,, or it can be forced to endure frequent hunger, thirst, loneliness, wet nappies, noise, bright lights, etc. etc. etc. As Alice Miller explains in her books, most parents unconsciously pass on their own psychological traumas by simply not caring for their infants as any simple mammal would. The mind goes through it's greatest development (after birth) during the first 2 years of it's life and these are the very years that parents with the authoritarian trauma vent their own conditioning on to their young. Beyond mental development that's associated with psychological aspects, a mind can only develop it's full potential if the necessary nutrients are there to stimulate proper growth. Though the human body gives the brain (and it's development) priority over other parts of the body, general malnutrition will result in decreased potential. Especially in modern western culture, good and plentiful sources of fats and minerals are absent. An interesting note in this regard concerns Ron Cusson's research into the importance of magnesium. He suggests that all great cultures developed near river deltas where seawater and rivers meet, because the abundance of Mg in the seawater allows for optimal health. That includes the health of the brain, i.e. that includes mental development. Cells that are forced to deal with a lack of Mg substitute it with calcium, resulting in rigidity and a lesser ability to function. The brains are basically all fat and minerals. Good fats produce good cell membranes and enough energy. Insufficient fats undermine general health, from pH balance, ability to deal with toxins, to energy levels. A child with a balanced psyche because he or she has been allowed to enjoy a peaceful and plentiful infancy will exibit intelligence if it's physical requirements are met. The intelligence of the parents [i.e. their epigenetics] has far less to do with it than modern society assumes is the case. Modern society, however, is renowned for it's unintelligent assumptions, the very fact it thrives on assumptions to begin with an important case in point. Generally speaking, someone whose mind is free of trauma and suffocating conditionings, may not only exibit great intelligence but even genius. Genius, however, is another topic of debate. Einstein himself did not consider himself a genius. Rather, he suggested that he simply did not quit until he had reached answers that satisfied him. That suggests that it's more about courage or fearlessness. The untraumatized mind does not resort to the reptilian mind all of the time but can stay focused. This can then lead to concepts and understanding that remain out of the reach of those whose minds' peace is shattered by what it takes to reach such concepts and understanding. A healthy balanced mind can stay in it's mammalian half where concepts and understanding can thrive. Fear drives people into their reptilian brain and the reptilian brain in turn drives fear. Courage and intelligence both seem linked, especially the courage to think consistent thoughts no matter where they take you. A mind that has worked 24/7 year after year at collecting facts, associations, and concepts that have been fully assimilated is hardware with efficient software. The hardware may be of sufficient quality [thinking of nutrition and peaceful pregnancy] but it's more about psyche than physiology. If such a mind is devoted to deep thought and research, it's easy to imagine how 'lesser minds' might consider it (and what it produces) as genius. To believe the genius Einstein himself, that's what's the case, not some imaginary or magical superhuman capabilities. Intelligence, therefore, equals mental health: balance, physiology, and psychology. Only a damaged mind with inferior reasoning and information would attribute it to genetics.nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheLivingShadow)Thu, 12 Jan 2012 15:04:19 +0000
