Insects as Human Food
Marjory Wildcraft: In pursuit of good nutrition in my backyard, I wanted to learn how to eat bugs.
So I organize a big Bug Fest every year. And now, television shows are really picking up on the idea. Check out this segment where we introduce eating bugs to the glamorous and trendy folks for the Fox Morning Show in San Antonio.
Butter, tamari, and garlic go a long way in making them edible, according to the vid, but they can also be eaten raw. These insect virgins were impressed with how good the bugs tasted (scorpions, grasshoppers & crickets, mealworms).

David Wolfe, as a vegan, says he eats ants some times and that they taste sweet. Captured in honey and blended raw, it's not too much of a stretch to imagiine. Culturally and naturally, it is far more 'normal' than most Westerners imagine. Eating ants, for example, is an important addition to any chimpanzee's diet.
(Proteins do not have to be eaten daily, as the body works with an amino acid pool, so regular bug feasts are a feasible way to approach this matter.)

- babies, which grow faster than anything, thrive on mother's milk which is 6% protein
- fruits contain the same amount
- meats are more fat than protein (but called protein foods)
- recovery is about replenishing carbohydrates (not proteins)
